We bought our first house on Block Island in 1969 – an old island antique with no plumbing , no electricity, and no heat. I was a weekender from spring into fall enjoying construction projects, fishing and spending time with my young family. Eventually, we bought a larger more up to date home on Lakeside Drive. I retired in 1997 after 35 years with John Hancock’s real estate finance operation in Boston, allowing me to spend more time enjoying Block Island. I recently moved my winter residence to Fort Myers, Florida but spend five months on Block Island each year. I am a supporter of The Block Island Conservancy, the Historical Society, the Rescue Squad, The Block Island Yacht Club, BIMI and the Health Center, as well as BIRA. My wife, Wendy, is a long time member of Spring Street Gallery.
